Development Environment
The software is being tested on a Red
Hat Fedora Core 4 machine. It is currently untested on any other build.
The machine has a 40x4 display, is running Amarok 1.3.9 and the display
manager is Fluxbox.
Known Bugs
Report bugs on the bug
tracker.
- If the connection to LCDproc is temporarily lost, no reconnect occurs.
Output for LCDproc is sent to stdout.
- Spaces and quotes are not recognized in the ScrollSeparator option
on the scroller widget.
Limitations
There are some limitations with airLCD that are there because Amarok
does not provide support for them. Therefore the following features will
not appear in airLCD unless Amarok implements them on their DCOP interface.
Playlist
- When viewing the playlist the current playlist in Amarok is saved
to disk and that file is read by airLCD. If the playlist is modified
while viewing it in airLCD (e.g. when in Dynamic mode) then these changes
won't be seen until the user exits the playlist and renters it (prompting
a re-reading of the playlist).
- Tracks cannot be moved around the playlist or removed from the playlist.
- Queuing of tracks is not possible only appending to the end of the
playlist.
